In times of hardship music can be a great ally. I'm sure you have listened to a certain song again and again. You felt it could express what was bothering you and maybe it could comfort you too.
Music can become an even better aid when you really take your need for comfort seriously.
Of course, for this you must choose music that you just love and can surrender to. The kind of music that makes you feel loved and accepted, and gives you a faith in life.
If I should suggest something from our catalog, then it would be
these:
Here's how:
-
Make sure no one and nothing will disturb you for the next half an hour (at least)
-
Turn the music on
-
Lie down and close your eyes
-
Just let your self relax and breath. Nothing else.
-
Relax every part of your body (like in part 4 of this course), if you can. If you can't then just accept that you're tense. That's OK.
-
Now imagine that the music is your helping friend. Literally. Let go of any obligations now, any restrains. Open up to the supportive energy around you - it is there even if you can't feel it right now.
-
Imagine that the music is like soothing water, or a soothing wind, or soft soothing massage, or like the presence of someone who loves you very, very much. Imagine it being exactly what you need right now, bringing you the kind of comfort that you long for right now.
-
Just stay with this feeling, let it embrace you, relax, for as long as you wish.
-
If any feelings come up, don't stop them. Let them move through you, and let the music embrace it all. Whatever it is, it's fine. Feel how the music stays with you, no matter what. Loves you, no matter what. And reminds you that hard times will pass.
-
Let the music whisper those loving words to you (even if it's without words) and trust it. It's true.
-
Only stop this process when you feel you're ready to move on. Don't hurry. Take your time.
