Relieve stress with New Age Music
The subject of illness and medicine is a sensitive one...
Some people are convinced, that all physical symptoms are rooted in mental or emotional problems and should be treated as such.
Others will argue, that nothing can replace medicine. The physical body needs certain substances in order to solve physical problems.
And then there are those who say, that it depends...
I won't go into that discussion here, I will just present you with some suggestions. They are by no means universal. They will work for some, and for some they might not.
It is solely your responsibility to decide if you want to try them along with what you do already, to find out how they work for you, and to decide if you should change anything in the way you normally approach illness or problems.
First, let's take a look at something most of us need from time to time:
Sleep Music
For sleep I would suggest music that is caring, pretty simple, without sudden shifts, music that will carry you, help you to soar away, music that doesn't make you think about itself.
Let it play in in the background, so that it helps you to sleep - not to stay awake :-))
When falling asleep is difficult, it is often your thoughts that disturb you. A deep relaxation - like the one described in part 4 of this online course will help you on your way to dreamland.
The only special thing about doing deep relaxation before you go to sleep is that you lie down in your favorite sleeping position. Often you will fall asleep before you're done with the deep relaxation. But if not, just stay relaxed and let the music carry you further away. Let the music become your a shelter, where you can just let go and relax and sleep.
Don't try to sleep though. That will often have the opposite effect. Just relax with the music - sleep will find you when you're ready. Even if you don't fall asleep, there is nothing to worry about - the deep relaxation should ensure that you're still somewhat refreshed.
Natural pain relief through music
Basically there are two natural - or meditative - ways to relieve pain through music.
One is to leave the body so to speak. Go somewhere else.
The other one is to go into the pain and release it by accepting it.
As with everything else in this course, your task is to find out what works for you.
Pain relief by moving away
For this you need music, that has the power to take you somewhere else. Music that is so positive, that you want to melt together with it, and forget all about your body. Go completely into the music! Forget the world around you, forget your body, forget everything - just listen to the music. Nothing else matters. You are one with the music. You drown yourself in the music.
Let the body (or whatever it is that is aching) take care of itself. While you're away it might even heal itself a little. And you get that mostly welcome break from the pain.

Inner Harvest (samples here)
is excellent for this
It's being used for relieving all kinds of painful circumstances, including such different conditions as colic, cancer and child birth.
In fact, it has been
chosen
by a British governmental health program for use during labor
Pain relief through acceptance
When you choose to explore the pain, in order to transform it, the music will have three important tasks to do:
- The music shall give you the extra energy it takes to confront pain
- The music shall help you change your consciousness, from the one that identifies with pain, suffers and wishes to escape into the one that knows that you are not the pain, you are not even the body, you are something bigger than that, you can embrace the pain, and maybe even feel unaffected by it.
- The music shall channel healing energies. It shall flow into those areas of your being that are in pain and bring love, acceptance and thus healing to them. It doesn't necessarily mean that the music shall cure you. It just means that it may support a self-healing process.
Blue Flame is that kind of music.

Here is how you conduct the process:
Feel the pain. Feel it with all your awareness, but kind of effortlessly, without judging it as something wrong, without trying to understand it. Just feel it.
This is a kind of meditation. Be open to the experience of pain. Relax as much as you possibly can, and let the music support you during the process. Let it support you and let it ease and bathe and cool (or warm, whatever feels good) your whole being. Let the music heal you.
During this process you might experience some inner pictures or insights about the pain. Do not try to make the insight come, but if it does come, welcome it. It might help you either live with or heal the present state.
